BAPTISM!

Hello everyone! This week has been incredible. We were blessed to be able to have one of our amis, Favor, be baptized last Saturday! She's absolutely amazing. I know without a doubt that God was in every part of her conversion. I know God is so proud of her and is so happy to have her back in his kingdom. I have learned so much from this experience in teaching her and seeing her desire to do God's will and keep her convenants with Him.

In our last lesson with her she bore her testimony and the spirit was so strong. She told us that her friend Tessy, who we are starting to teach, was telling her that she wasn't sure if God would forgive her of her sins. Favor testified that "there is no sin too big that God cannot forgive. He loves us so, so much and his mercy is over all." Then she told us of another time one of her other friends asked why and how she was so different. She told him that God did it. She said she's so much happier than she was before. She knows her purpose and it's because of the gospel of Jesus Christ that she's different. Afterwards her friend said that he wanted to go to our church because if Favor can change then he could too. When she told us all this we were so thrilled. This is true happiness. I'm so happy that I was able to have a glimpse of what it is like to see the gospel of Jesus Christ change people's lives for the better.  I'd like to share her testimony with you all because it's awesome! (She doesn't speak English super well, but it's cute anyways)

"...I am so happy to see this great day in my life because when I look back my life before was different and now I see a very big good difference in it and the little time I have study the gospel of Christ I found joy and happiness in my life I know him love me so much and him want me to follow his path and also want to keep his covenant and obey his commandments which I have promise to do with the rest of my life and the greatest joy in my life today is that seeing myself been born again and I thank our heavenly father for his mercy in my life. I leave this word in the name of Jesus Christ amen."

So yes we are now starting to teach her friend Tessy who is also from Nigeria and is willing to follow the path of her best friend, Favor.

On other news I will be staying here in Nantes and will have to say goodbye to my beloved Sœur Morrison and mother, Sœur Giles. I will be receiving Sœur Franklin and I'm excited to be working with her here in Nantes! I was going to be with Soeur Todd but at the last minute this morning I received a call from President explaining the change. The reason is so crazy. 12 new missionaries were supposed to be coming from the MTC but 9 of them are still waiting for their Visas so only 3 are coming and 14 missionaries are leaving and going home. So there is a deficiency in the mission and lots of companionships are closing for the time being until the new missionaries arrive.

Love you all and I hope you have a great week.  keep working hard, find things that bring you true happiness!

Love,
Sœur Hunt

Her name is Favor

This week has been absolute miracles with our ami Favor. She is an amazing person who truly has a desire to follow God and do good in the sight of God. We saw her every single day this week as we tried to prepare her for her baptismal interview that she had last Friday and passed!  She's so smart and understands everything we have said to her. Within 4 days we taught her 84% of the lessons. She did everything we asked her to and she was so, so happy after every single lesson. She's a very shy person but once she opens up she's herself. She's opened up so much to us and she loves having us over. Her background history is that she was going to church a few times when she was in Nigeria but then was told that she could get a job in France so a group of them traveled to France but once they got to Toulon she was told to work as a prostitute, but she didn't want to. Later she found out at some point everyone in her group that came with her had died. So, she decided that she was saved because of God. She decided since she was saved that she would live the rest of her life for the Lord.  She found the church again by herself and went to general conference. She then moved here about 2 months ago and then we got her referral! She had met the missionaries when she was in Nigeria, but she said back then she wasn't ready to commit herself to the gospel until she had this experience.  She's amazing and progressing so well. Her baptism is this Saturday she's still ready to be baptized! I'm so excited for her!

That was a few of the amazing miracles that happened this week and the other one is that yesterday at church we were able to have 4 amis at church! Two of them were new amis because one member brought her friend to church and then our ami Favor brought HER friend to church! So incredible! Then Kylian and his less active family came too which was super!  He is also still progressing towards baptism!

The Elders were able to have their baptism last Saturday and it was wonderful.  Favor came to see how baptisms work.

So, lots of fabulous things are happening and we're excited to see what happens in the future.

Love you all lots and I hope you have a great week!

Love sœur Hunt

Soeur Giles, on the far left, was Sarah's trainer when Sarah arrived in France.  She will be going home at the end of August and then it will be just Soeur Morrison and Soeur Hunt in Nantes.
